MAZI SAM I. OHUABUNWA, FPSN PHARM, MON

A Pharmacist by training from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, he received additional Postgraduate education in Management and Business from Columbia University, New York, USA and the Lagos Business School (Pan African University) Lagos, Nigeria. He is a Fellow of many distinguished professional bodies, the key ones being Fellow of Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (FPSN), Fellow of the West African Post Graduate College Of Pharmacists (FPC PHARM.), Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Management (FNIM), Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (FNIMN) and honorary Fellow of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (FNIPR). He is the current Chairman of the Board of Fellows of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria.

Mazi Ohuabunwa has been involved over the years in Economic Advocacy and belongs to several Private Sector Organizations. He is currently the Chairman of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group, a National Council Member of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), President of the Nigerian Employers Consultative Association (NECA) and Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG). Sam was a member of vision 2010 Committee, and served in the National Political Reforms Conference 2005 and in 2007 he was the Chairman of the Organized Private Sector (OPS). He is currently a Member of the National Council on Vision 2020 and has recently been appointed to the Presidential Steering Committee on the Global Economic Crisis. Sam is a consummate entrepreneur and businessman with major interest in Telecommunications, Courier Services, Financial Services and healthcare. He currently serves as the President/CEO of Neimeth International Pharmaceutical Plc, a resultant company from the Management Buyout of Pfizer Inc shares in Pfizer Products Plc, which he led in 1997.
Prior to that, Sam was the Chairman/Managing Director/Regional Manager for Pfizer West Africa, the group he joined in 1978 as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative and rose to become the CEO in 1993.

Sam serves on the Board of several corporations and organizations.

Mazi Sam is an author and a prolific writer. He is frequently invited as a Speaker on the economic, professional, social and Christian circuits. He is a strong voice in the nation; and for his extensive contributions to the society, he has been severally honoured; by his communities, numerous professional and academic associations and by the nation as a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) in 2001.

He is presently the Chairman, Board of Directors of SPNS Consulting.
